CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: Reinventing the virtue of character

The Importance of Character Development One thing that determines the quality of our lives is character. In fact, everything rises and falls with it. The Encarta Dictionary defines character as a “set of qualities that makes somebody or something distinctive, especially somebody’s quality of mind and feeling.” This means that character can be influenced by conditioning the state of the mind, leading to the fact that character is not a gift but a virtue that must be developed. It can either be your point of attraction or your repellent; it could be your distinctive plus or your minus in the world. Character sticks with you and becomes you—so much so that J. R. Leave the carry overs behind

When you live with the hurts, failures and setbacks of yesterday in today, you are actually living in yesterday today, it is only the date that has changed, but the reality remains unchanged. Each new day present our lives with the opportunity to reset the time of our lives to zero and start afresh.  The hurts and pains of yesterday will always want to define your life and stripe you of today’s joy, and envelope you from seeing your today's glory. Yesterday will always want you to have no reason to rejoice today because you were hurt, that is why Jesus asked us to live one day at a time, so that today is not a carry-over of yesterday.  There are two enemies of today’s joy; the bad experiences of yesterday and the fear of uncertain tomorrow you should always remind yourself that yesterday is a past with all its disappointment and tomorrow is not yours to decide, whatever comes or goes Jesus in your life is the assurance you need for a secure future.

Only one life, some have their names written only on the tombstone, while others stamp their names permanently on the hearts of people. That man lives or die is not an issue, but how much of God’s purpose for creating you succeed is the crux of the matter. Your life may never have to touch the whole world, but there is somebody who could live because of you. Only one life some make history and rewrite history, others make only money. The duration of your life is not what matter that most, after all Methuselah lived 969 with no legacy to show for living but Enoch lived 365 and left the best legacy ever. Only one life man define life by how much he accu...
